FEBRUARY 2013:
lots going on in the absolution camp!
bara, our guest artist and friend has now finished her time with us, she is heading up north for a month and we wish her all the best on her travels!
our move to the tannery boutique retail and arts emporium is drawing closer and closer, a much anticipated move that we are all very excited for! great fashion, coffee, food and friends right at our doorstep.
we are still offering the same amazingness in the 'hau for the time being, so come and see us for ink or pretties!
eden is heading away from the 25th of march for 2 weeks to go yet again to the amazing dallas suspension practitioners suscon in dallas, texas! be sure to stop in before he goes for all your implant grade jewellery needs.
the move to the new home is almost upon us. patience will be rewarded march 2013 in the form of a 'tempoarary' shared space with our good pals and purveyors of taste at 'dead set', which will see us onsite and awaiting the completion of our permanent home due may.
please keep all eyes on the prize and we promise, this will be the last time we move.
2012
AUGUST 2012:
the impending move to the tannery has been pushed back to feb 2013. chomping at the bit to relocate whilst remaining patient for the rebuild of our future home. check out the tannery dedicated website and the facebook page for a taste of our new home and co-inhabitants.
naith and fiona will be attending the new plymouth tattoo convention this november, among many international artists plying ink, they will also bring guest artist tattoo tom back with them for 2 short days. check him out in the face, www.facebook.com/tom.horimoe if you want to get poked.
MAY 2012:
premises relocation
the powers that 'be' have decided that our beloved previous home on manchester street is beyond repair and therefore is due to be demolished. 'sadface'
however we have secured a new location in an exciting new development,
THE TANNERY 'happyface'
due for handover in october, all things going well we should be opening around halloween of this year, surrounded by other purveyors of finery and taste. we will of course keep our website and facebook updated as information comes to hand to ensure all you fine folks can find us.
so look out for us, not exactly central, but then again there is no center.
guest artists
we are still to confirm some guests for the year, however one we are certain of is the return of the immensely talented bara from prague, czech republic. czech out her work here
she is due to arrive around xmass to help us break in the new studio, and is planning on being here for a month or 2.
FEBRUARY 2012:

move to location
courtesy of the feb earthquake, we are now located at 45 nancy ave in mairehau. keeping it real and tasty till we gain access to our beloved city.
status of manchester street
still awaiting the final engineers report on the extent of repairs required. last reports were that the exterior walls and roof needed replacement, with the exception of the back wall. we hoped to be in by end 2012, but all things in due course.
dead set
we are playing nice with our good (plutonic....mostly) friends from dead set, who got evicted courtesy of mother nature from their awesome digs on lichfield st. purveyors of good taste in all things clothing and curious, they really are the only place in christchurch to obtain amazing clothing, especially for the boys tho not exclusively.

lukas zpira is available for scarification and body modifications for an extremely limited time. arriving wed 10th november and departing on the monday 15th, cantabrians have a small window of opportunity to get sweet-sweet mod' action from one of the worlds leaders, don't miss out!!we will also be collaborating with lukas for a not-to-be-missed performance at the fetishball, saturday 13th november. tickets are $50 and available from us.
guest tattoo artist rob abell makes a return trip for 2 days only before joining naith at the new plymouth tattoo convention. hailing from the famous dynamic tattoo in melbourne, rob is here 24 - 25 november and does some of the cleanest work you will ever witness. contact the studio to make the most of this debonair talent.
for xmas its always nice to hurt the ones you love by purchasing a voucher for our fine establishment. vouchers are super nice, can be made up for any amount/proceedure and are valid for 12 months. if that seems a bit mean, we also have shop tees in black only for $40.
OCTOBER 2010:
the tempest is due to subside. after over 4 years taking shelter at the absolution compound, jolene is taking flight to whence she came, i.e tauranga. (or is that tau-wronger?). phone the studio now to book appointments if you have work in progress, or want to get touched up by the pointy eared tattoo girl. so yeah, the date she departs for sunnier shores is the 5th december, making her last date of inky fun SATURDAY DECEMBER 4TH.otherwise, fiona and naith remain to apply ink to wandering vagrants while jolene works on her tan in sunny tauranga.
SEPTEMBER 2010:
we are offering a stab special! forty dollars above the belt / sixty dollars below the belt *this excludes surface piercings, microdermals and skin divers. valid until the end of september.
AUGUST 2010:
we had zooooooooombie day. great success. the crew all dressed up as the undead for friday 13th, and we offered a piercing special for reciting one of the rules from zombieland. for people dressed as the undead - a free piecing. check out some photos in our zombie gallery!

olle walks into absolution, and into our hearts for a month or so of work and travel. tall and dashing and slightly swedish, olle draws the monsters we believe him to be on the inside. his ability to use effective techniques to achieve soft colour tattoo work makes him almost like a super hero, though his cartwheels let him down.
