AGE CONSENT
while christchurch has no by-laws surrounding age consent for body piercing and tattooing, we do uphold our own policy regarding this. it is as follows;
TATTOO
16-18: you will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. photo identification is required of both you and your parent/guardian.
18 +: all we require is photo identification.
PIERCE
children’s earlobes: we offer earlobe piercings to children 8 years and older and strongly suggest a consultation prior with a piercer.
identification is required of both the child and the parent/legal guardian.

as far as pricing goes – we charge a $60 fee for a pair of children’s lobes, plus the cost of jewellery. this starts from around $110 for a pair of F136 titanium studs, so total is around $170+
under 13: we offer ear lobe piercings only and you need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. identification is required of both the child and the parent/legal guardian.
13-16: we offer limited piercing services and require you to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. identification is required of both the child and the parent/legal guardian.
16-18: some services are up to the piercer’s discretion. all we require is photo identification.
18 +: all we require is photo identification.
WE DO NOT PIERCE THE NIPPLES OR GENITALS OF ANYONE UNDER 18.
TATTOO PRICING
consultations: we offer free consultations.
minimum charge: our minimum charge is $150.
quotes: we are more than happy to give you a quote for any design ideas you may have. in person at the time of consultation is always best for the most accurate quote.
deposit: $100 deposits are required for all new clients. this is non-refundable, but can be transferred to another appointment, or client if you give us at least 48 hours notice of cancellation or postponement. LATE CANCELLATION WILL INCUR A $50 CHARGE, FAILURE TO SHOW WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF $100 DEPOSIT.
PIERCING PRICING / POLICIES
we charge a $50.00 piercing fee PLUS the cost of jewellery for all piercings. we have a wide range of jewellery options to choose from, this is why prices are not individually listed as total cost all depends on what high quality piece you choose for your piercing – we look forward to helping you decide on a piece that best suits you!
given the nature of body jewellery, all sales are final and jewellery is non-refundable.
JEWELLERY
- we use all implant grade or biocompatible materials with threadless or internal threading, all polished to a mirror finish
- our gemstones and ceramics we offer are made to the highest quality standards by swarovski
- we are able to order genuine conflict-free diamonds in a variety of different options
- given the fragility of natural opals, we choose to offer man made options instead. these are a lot more durable for long term wear in the body. natural opals can be special ordered (in gold only) however come with a disclaimer.
- we offer genuine gemstone options and can special order in specific options on request (depending on availability)
- all gold and titanium jewellery has a lifetime warranty against manufacturers defects (unless otherwise specified)
OUR TATTOO INK
we use eternal brand colour pigments and waverly black and grey wash. all pigments are vegan and are comprised of organic powder, distilled water, witch hazel, alcohol.
is getting a tattoo with eternal ink different from any other ink?
yes. eternal ink is non acrylic ink and being an organic pigment it allows the body to heal faster and hold the colour better.
are your tattoo inks safe?
you may be aware that all ink products have become the subject of closer scrutiny over recent times, with some speculation that certain ink products may contain chemicals and substances which are potentially harmful to humans. we continue to closely monitor the guidance and advice on this subject and would never supply any products which contain substances banned in the UK, Europe or U.S.A. we are working closely with our suppliers to ensure that the products we sell are safe to use.
can tattoo ink cause an allergic reaction?
yes, a person can be allergic to any tattoo ink or anything else. eternal ink has the lowest reactions of any tattoo ink. if you are unsure a test patch should be done.
are eternal inks suitable for vegans?
yes eternal ink is 100% vegan safe as we put no animal by-products in any of our colours.
sterilsation
we use state of the art sterilisation techniques, offering our clients the best in up to date sterilisation technology. we use a statim autoclave which allows us to sterilise all brand new, single use and disposable implements and jewellery needed for piercing at the time of the procedure.
each cycle is monitored and recorded using a class 6 emulator, ensuring each cycle reaches the three parameters of sterilisation; heat, pressure and time.
we also helix test daily, and service our autoclave annually with Emech Medical
can I get tattooed or pierced if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
given your body is already undergoing a huge and amazing task, we do not pierce or tattoo those who are pregnant and advise waiting 3 months postpartum. we feel it’s best to focus on one thing at a time, especially because majority of piercings take months to heal (meaning your body is already working overtime) we don’t feel it worth adding to that stress on your immune system.
